Looking after vintage
These pieces have already lived a life or two. A little care keeps them going for many more.
- Read the label: always follow the care label if there is one.
- Wash cool: 30°C or a hand wash, inside out, with a gentle detergent.
- Skip the tumble dryer: dry flat or on a hanger, away from direct heat.
- Delicates: silk, sequins, beading, lace and mesh: hand wash or dry clean only.
- Leather & suede: specialist clean only; brush suede gently and keep away from rain.
- Wool & knitwear: hand wash cold, dry flat to keep the shape; fold, don't hang.
- Denim: wash less, cold and inside out to keep the colour.
- Storage: cool, dry, out of direct sunlight; padded hangers for structured pieces.
